Onix | ONIX for Books is an XML format for sharing bibliographic data pertaining to both traditional books and eBooks. Depending on your site your onix has certain standards most of our sites follow 2.0 or 2.1. To find the rules for the onix refer to your site documentation or contact your support manager via jira. There are two type of Onix Full - A complete record of everything you’re currently publishing or will publish (ex. forthcoming titles), this also includes any changes/updates made to previously submitted records. Automatic collections are feed driven, so typically you would see an automatic collection for New Releases or Coming Soon as we can use the publisher date to determine the rule-set. Automated collections are any type of collection where we can use the metadata in your onix to determine a rule-set for what books to show or hide in your collection. Manual collections are collections that are manually made by selecting ISBN's and adding those to your collection list. Manual collections are not updated by the feed or your data and will always need to be manually updated. |
